To be able to read arabic, you can use the package I have created. http://www.almahdi.cc/bb/arabic.jad
However, for writing in arabic, I have never needed it, thus I never bothered to find out. But since I am getting lots of requests for ability in writing arabic. I will research this and post the information once done.
